Have a Question for Jack?
Q: My Sweeper Brooms
are wearing out quicker than the suggested life of the broom
Why?
A: There are many reasons why this could be happening. Here are
a few important things to address when using your brooms: Are you maintaining
proper speed? Sweeping too quickly will apply additional stress to the
broom causing it to age quicker. Is you broom level? You can cut the life
span of a broom in half by operating it unlevel. Are you rotating your
brooms? Flipping your broom end over end regularly helps to balance wear
and tear, ask the manufacturer for a suggested rotation schedule. You will
also find that following these few suggestions will not only help the
life span of your broom, but will also improve the quality of the sweeping
job.
Q: What is the
most important part of a broom, the filament or the amount of wraps?
A: Both are important, and both should be looked at when buying
a broom. Because the ends of the broom is the most critical part in the
sweeping process, the number of wraps is important. However, if the filament
is not sturdy enough to withstand the pressures involved with sweeping,
the number of wraps is irrelevant. The poly filament needs to be strong
enough to resist sagging and firm enough to provide continuous "flicking."
The filament ends should have 4-5 quality tight wraps to provide greater
filament per square inch covering a greater surface area.
Q: I see the term "AllPro" used everywhere, what does this mean?
A: The term "AllPro" was originally used, and continues
to be used, by Keystone in regards to our "All Professional"
line of sweeper brooms and brushes. The AllPro Strip Broom was designed,
developed and manufactured by Keystone as part of that product line. We
hold the original patent and continue to expand the product line with
the additions of the AllPro Combo Strip Broom, the AllPro Combo Wafer
Broom and AllPro Combo Wafer.
